
- Co-op Checklist and Process
- Before You Register:
- Meet with your academic advisor to discuss how co-op will affect your class schedule
- Check with Financial Aid to see how your scholarships/aid may be affected while on co-op
- Notify your residence hall of your co-op assignment if you live in the dorms
- Read the Co-op Handbook
- To Register:
- Co-op is a special permission course-our office registers you with the following information:
- A copy of your offer letter from your employer
- Complete as much as you can of the "Undergraduate Co-op Checklist"
- A completed "Student Cooperative Education Agreement Form"
- A completed "Employer Agreement Form" signed by both you and your employer
- Completed required sections of the "Student Information Form." Any additional information can be emailed or called in to Adam Griffis at the Career Center

- Additional Things to Do as You Begin Your Co-op:
- Read the "Before You Go" presentation on the co-op web page

- Change your mailing address to your new co-op address on the Student Records and Registration web site.
- Pay for your co-op credits on time or your schedule will be dropped. Contact Accounting Services for billing questions. (906) 487-2243, 800-576-6484 or student-billing@mtu.edu.
- Provide us with an alternate email address if you are not able to access your MTU account.

- During Your Co-op:
- VERY IMPORTANT! Check your MTU email account frequently while on co-op. This is our primary method for contacting you. You will receive e-newsletters with reminders, deadlines and other pertinent information.
- Complete the required Progress Evaluation(s) and turn them in to our office before the due dates
- At the End of Your Co-op:
- Both you and your supervisor will need to complete final evaluation forms and submit them to our office by the due dates.

- You must write a technical report and have your supervisor read and sign the front page of your report before you submit it to the Career Center. More information about the technical report can be found here
