Computer Lab Assistant (4/21/08)
Position reports directly to the VPA department
Sr. Systems Administrator, Manager.
Starting pay: $7.40/hr.
Work Week: 7 hours (varies)
Position Begins: Summer 2008 or Fall 2008
Essential Duties:
- Be on hand in VPA CAML lab in Rozsa to help with application
questions, system and printing questions/problems.
- Install applications, patches, configurations as directed;
image and update lab machines accordingly.
- Physical labor such as assemble/install computers, assemble
furniture/desks, haul computers and monitors.
- Document work via RT (Request Tracking) system; maintain good
communication with SysAd Manager.
Required Qualification:
- Must be comfortable in the MAC OSX environment.
- Ability to learn the basics of VPA curriculum specific applications.
- Must be comfortable with computers and interested in learning
new tools/utilities related to systems administration.
- Must have outstanding written communication skills.
Desirable Qualifications:
- Experience with Bombich utilities and practices.
- Experience with Bootcamp and or Parallels.
- Experience with Microsoft Windows operating systems.
- Experience with Unix operating system; OSX, Solaris, or Linux.
